Day 7 & 8 - Alice Springs: Couple of rest days

It’s Thursday and we opted to rest while the others went sight-seeing. It was a good day, we lazed around and recharged our batteries – ours not the Pajero’s 🙂 . As Friday broke it was obvious one of our party had unexpectedly fallen ill. It was a no brainer; we’d stay home today and keep an eye on her and again took a restful although slightly stressful (with concern for our ill sister) day off. At one point it was serious enough for us to take her to the Alice Springs Hospital where everything went quickly and smoothly; perhaps the Western Australian Hospital system could take a leaf out of Alice Springs’ book. It turned out that our sister was severely dehydrated so the rest of us helped to ensure her fluid intake was increased and we all relaxed into the evening.
